Our highly skilled employees vary from having hands on training to having degrees in construction management. The team at Larson Gagnon & Sons consists of both long term employees and recent additions - all of whom are very experienced and work hard to provide the highest quality product. We value our employees and pride ourselves in how they conduct themselves around clients and their property.
We also have strong working relationships with other professional subcontractors - all key players in making your dream project a reality.
Co-Founder and President Rene Gagnon was raised in Bennington, Vermont, where work on a family farm developed his work ethic, along with farming and carpentry skills. After graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in Agricultural Science and Vocational Education, he was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps, serving as a construction engineer and infantry officer. Studies in foreign diplomacy and military travel provided him with experience carrying out humanitarian projects including the building of schools, health clinics, bridges and roads. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve in 2005.
With more than 25 years of experience as a general contractor and business owner, Rene brings his leadership skills and "can do” attitude to everything he does. He is a key player in every LG&S project. Rene works closely with clients and organizes, coordinates and communicates all aspects of the project from design to completion.
Rene and wife, Cindy, have lived in Shelburne since 1989 where they raised their two children. He has been active in his community and volunteered for many years as an Assistant Boy Scout Troop Leader. Currently, he serves on the Shelburne Cemetery Commission. Rene enjoys spending his free time at camp with family and friends where he hunts, hikes, kayaks, watches the wildlife and enjoys every season that Vermont offers.
Vice-President Todd Larson was raised in Vermont and values everything that it offers. His father worked as a local contractor which provided Todd with many opportunities to gain hands on experience. Those years can be credited with sparking his interest in carpentry and general contracting. While working for his father and other local contractors, Todd earned his business degree from Champlain College. He joined Rene in 1999, first as a lead carpenter, then advancing to project manager. In 2017, Todd and Rene formed Larson, Gagnon & Sons, Inc.Todd lives in New Haven with his wife Pam and teenage son. He has been actively involved in his community coaching little league, cheering on local sports teams, and supporting his son’s activities. Todd spends spare time with his family enjoying the lake, boating, hunting, fishing and golfing with his son and father.
